So here’s a thought

Asked of me

What it’d be like

If we all could see

Not with our eyes

Or in our homes

Not in the car

Or office of clones

What I was asked

Was to write

A simple poem

And this I like

So after tasks

I did complete

Here I am on

This here street

It is amazing

And obvious

So many people

All of us

We are here

At different times

Some just read

Others write lines

What makes it real

And so compelling

Are all the words

And so much selling

What we write

And how we feel

What we think

Is it all real?

Are we here

Most of all

To make a friend

And that is all

All People here

In human nature

We really do just

Need each other

The question now

Before I close

Is are you real

Or pitch proposed

What I like

And I’m not crass

A place where misfits

Show real class

The only sign

We have to see

Are the words

And pictures free

Face to face

We seldom hear

And physically

We disappear

But in this land

Of digital

Words right here

Are visible

So while you’re here

And yet so far

What is your wish

Upon a star

As we reach

The end ahead

Across the page

That you have read

What was the point

I tried to make

Are you just here
