My pen wont speak
My hand is weak
My voice I’ll use
My words amuse

There is some way
That I can say
To myself
And no one else

Dear me within
I lost my pen
So I will say
And record away

Keep this phrase
It does amaze
Such power words
When they’re heard

It’s very hard
To look at you
When the mirror
Shows you true

This is your face
Not your soul
It looks tired
When you’re not whole

Now do this
Command your smile
Look at you
Just for awhile

What comes next
Paraphrases

To self a-blazes

As you look
Don’t turn away
Bring self back
Fix your display

Now just smile
Right at you
No pen is needed
To do this too

It may seem silly
And absurd
But listen please
To every word
