We all have those  moments...

When something from the past

Creeps into the present

And hits us really fast

Before we even know it

We enter memory’s bank

And withdraw some amount

The overdraft just sank

It doesn’t matter when

It cannot tell the time

Every memory tries

To bug us all sometime

So here’s a piece of interest

It’s one I just regret

It only mustered up

I wanted to forget

But then I thought of others

And what they too go through

So then I just invested

And wrote some words for you

Something I can promise me

And only you to self

Is that when it’s all over

There’s really something else.

Sometimes it’s really better

Unless it gets much worse

But every memory has

A reason to immerse 

They often aren’t invited 

The ones we like to lose

And harder to remember

When clouded with abuse

Sometimes there is a warning

A reminder can be kind

It really helps you see

The crap you left behind

So sometimes just remember

And see how far you’ve come

It really doesn’t matter

All growth is still income
