‼️I SLIPPED THROUGH THE CRACKS‼️

There in the alley

I sat in the darkness

My eyes were weary

But see the moon’s brightness

It pierced down upon me

And lit up the snow

I hid in my corner

So no one would know

The echoes of footsteps

Remind me to hide

Oh how I wish now

That I was inside

The sounds of the traffic

Far off in the distance

Summoning others

Cars honk in resistance

The sound of fast music

Rang from an entrance

Where many inside

Graced rhythm in dance

The bark of a dog

Stopped in his tracks

The owner lit up

And I slipped through the cracks

I recall long ago

When I was a child

People like me now

Were said to be wild

The days I recall

I knew my own name

And now I am here

I’m no longer the same

I gave all I had

To others I knew

Not once did I stop

Or think it quite through

And then it was gone

All that I had

I sought help from others

Who made me feel bad

No longer were needed

My hands when empty

So then I just left

And evil did tempt me

In a moment of weakness

I do not recall

Something gave in

And hard did I fall

Far from a distance

These years I have missed

I sat now awakened

With snow all amidst

Oh Lord I remember

And thank you for me

I now close my eyes
